Whispers of Disquiet

Whispers of Disquiet:

In chambers where the shadows dwell,

A tranquil heart, a silent shell,

But words like daggers pierce the peace,

With rules that bind, and never cease...

An echo comes, a voice unkind,

Dictating terms that leave us blind,

Each harsh command, a bitter stone,

Turning warmth to cold, and flesh to bone...

Submit, obey, don’t dare to stray,

Instructs the storm that dims the day,

With every shout, the calm recedes,

A garden wilted by bitter seeds...

Thoughts once free, now shackled tight,

In a maze of oughts where wrong feels right,

In cruel decrees, the heart is penned,

As tender whispers warp and bend...

Laughter fades, and joy turns gray,

As hope collapses, slips away,

For in the clamor, dreams take flight,

But tangled rules snuff out the light...

Each barbed remark, a wound unhealed,

A cruelty that is all too real,

Not good enough, the scars they weave,

In silent corners where spirits grieve....

Yet flickering deep, a fire stays,

A gentle strength that slowly sways,

For every voice, no matter how loud,

Can’t drown the truth that lifts the shroud...

So when the echoes lash and bite,

Hold tight to love, embrace the fight,

In the quiet space where shadows mend,

Find a voice that can transcend...
