A PLANT GROWS IT'S FLOWERS AWAY FROM THE THORNS

We all know that the plants grow thorns to gear up its defence mechanism, to protect itself with eating predators, destroyers and thereby improving the chances of its survival. Its stronger technique is to sting the predators when they are closer and that keeps them away. The most beautiful flowers are from the plants that are with dangerous thorns. Say it is in desert growing cacti or the beautiful rose, just to name a few and there are millions out there as such. Strangely when it comes to blooming, it produces a long stalk away from the thorns and flaunts her beautiful, colourful petals, attracting even the most stone hearted. The plant keeps the tender petals away from its own defence mechanism, protecting it from the danger.

The plant understands the possibilities and works on itself to keep its most weak produce at bay from its own evil system. We as humans need to understand that our own vulnerabilities need to be protected, worked on it, explore possibilities, until it makes you the best in handling such situations and weaknesses. That is how we grow and make our vulnerabilities as our strongest ability.

We humans find it difficult to be in tune with the possible setbacks and adaptations to the environment that life throws at us. We give up and return on many occasions to find the comforts of our earlier stages of our life. This will not only become the constraints to our growth but also breaks our confidence into pieces. We can learn from the plant the act of resilience and adaptation to the conditions around them. They have survived the harshest environments for years much before humans have evolved. They have grown their defences according to the environment they have to put up with it, dead, regrow, work on their mechanisms, and eventually evolved themselves to be indestructible. They grow in the tough circumstances which is hard to imagine. Millions of years in the work made it to here. We humans give up so easy. Resilience and adaptation are the key to survive in the world. We need to jump in with the toughest competition and never be afraid to lose.

The plants have a quality of life that is utmost tender and also be able to produce the harshest defences to protect itself. The existence of thorns and tender flowers in one plant makes it a metaphor, that a person can be firm and also soft. We should be firm with the values and principles and not give away the tenderness within for our loved ones. We also need to strike the right balance to denials and acceptance to become successful.

The plants also undergo transformation, grow into all shapes & sizes to maximise its survival and they grab the resources available around them to strengthen itself. As they say change is an integral part of growth and growth cannot happen unless you transform yourself. Change is the catalyst that pushes us out of the comfort zones, forcing us to adapt and evolve.

There are many inspirational works around us, I looked at a plant today, and you can too find on something else or maybe the same. We all need an eye to look around. May you find the inspiration that is needed and do share with us.

Such a beautiful thought, Anand...The idea of protecting our vulnerabilities while growing really connected with me. It reminds me of how I balance being a mother and a learner, growing while protecting what’s important. Thank you for this inspiring message...

True. We have to work on our weaknesses and never consider giving up on those. It will only make us weaker.
