Echoes of STEPPES

Echoes of the Steppes:

In fields where golden sunflowers sway,

Where children once laughed in the light of day,

A shadow falls over the emerald land,

As hearts are weighed down by a heavy hand....

The dawn breaks gently, but the sky is gray,

Whispers of freedom in disarray.

From cities adorned with history's grace,

To quiet villages, all faces now trace....

With courage ignited like fire in the night,

The spirit of Ukraine stands, ready to fight.

For every lost song, a new anthem birthed,

In the echo of struggles, a yearning is stirred....

The rivers still flow, though the heart may ache,

Tales of resilience in every heartache.

Mothers are crying, their hopes washed away,

Yet dreams live on in the brave who stay....

Through sorrow and strife, through loss and despair,

The bond of a nation grows stronger, aware,

Of love that unites, through the darkest of days,

In the spirit of Ukraine, a fierce light ablaze...

From the Carpathians high to the plains by the sea,

Through the frost of the winter, the warmth of esprit,

With each step they take, through the trials they find,

A future that's woven in courage, aligned...

So let the world witness, let history learn,

In the heart of a nation, a fire will burn.

For hope's not a whisper, nor a soft sigh,

It's a roaring momentum that refuses to die....

In unity standing, they’ll weather the storm,

Through darkness, through night, a new dawn will form.

For Ukraine shall rise, as a phoenix from ash,

In love, in defiance, their spirits will thrash....

And so in the silence, where shadows once crawled,

Lies the strength of a people, undaunted, enthralled;

In the tapestry woven from sorrow and cheer,

The soul of Ukraine forever shines clear...

So well put.
It is so disheartening that we still fight wars that are most avoidable and can be amicably resolved with a dialogue. We also seeing the atrocities in Gaza, WestBank, Lebanon with so many dying. The politicians fight war and the citizens pay with their life...
